ABOUT PICK 'N' PAYLESS
Garry Rush with the help of Sims Metal founded this yard in 1997 with 7 staff as a self serve yard. With the idea of becoming the largest pick and pull yard in Australia, a 15acre site was found in Kings Park (Blacktown). With the Council approval granted and the purchase of equipment to start the ball rolling, a huge task was in store for Garry.

With a fleet of Tilt Trays and Hiab trucks he would go anywhere at almost anytime to buy stock for his new wrecking yard, trying to acquire a large range of makes and models to suit any u pull it type of customer.
After 8 Months the yard was almost full. Some customers had found the Pick N Payless yard through local papers and word of mouth. It was time to let the rest of New South Wales know of a place they could bring their own tools and take the parts they need from a car like their own, in there own time, at a price they could afford.

Though advertising, customer numbers grew and more staff was needed to keep up with demand.
In 2002 Garry bought out Sims Metal so he was now free to develop Pick N Payless the way Garry intended it to be. The yard was full of stock and turning over approximately 500 cars a month. This meant for most customers every time they needed a part for their car a fresh wreck is in the spot where they were on their last visit.
Now the pick a part yard was firing well, Garry thought it was time to cater for the business people in the area. He started buying later model cars to be dismantled and the parts were shelved and tagged with a sophisticated computerised inventory system, a digital phone system and expert staff to take responsibility of this new venture.
With the Blacktown yard now firing on all 8 cylinders, in 2003 Garry bought some land in Ingleburn to start Pick N Payless Ingleburn setting up for self serve first and then intending to do later model cars latter down the track. The yard opened November 2003 and was welcomed with open arms by the people of the Campbelltown area, however, the Council regulations were different than Blacktown and although successful the yard was unfortunately closed November 2004.

Garry has now turned his attention to keeping the Blacktown yard on target for 650 – 700 cars a month. Garry's goal is to have his customers leave with the parts they came in for.
The 10 times Australian Sprint Car Champion has a determination and drive to achieve anything he sets his mind to.
